Innovating for more than 70 years

About Us

About Pacific Press TechnologiesOur story began during World War II when Pacific Press built the U.S.’ first hydraulic press brake. The industry quickly realized our product was a much safer and more reliable alternative to mechanical brakes. But we weren’t satisfied with just one innovation. We wanted to continue to help America lead the way by improving technology across all our product lines. Along the way we also built:

  • The first computer-controlled servo-hydraulic press for composite molding
  • The world’s largest plate shear (G-Series 36’) capable of cutting one and a half inch steel plate
  • The world’s largest chop shear (G-Series 2′) capable of cutting two inch steel pipe

Building America, from the heart of America

In 1955, we opened our manufacturing operation in Mt. Carmel, IL (about halfway between St. Louis and Louisville). And we’re still there today, continuing the tradition of innovation and quality:

  • 1955 – Pacific engineers and manufactures it’s first hydraulic shear
  • 1979 – Manufactured a K-1250-40 press brake
  • 1980 – Manufactures a 2000 ton D series straight side press
  • 1981 – Manufactured a K-3000-27 press brake
  • 1981 – Manufactured 1000 ton tandems 25′ and 27′
  • 1985 – Manufactured the first CNC servo hydraulic press brake in the US
  • 1986 – Pacific delivers a 2000 ton press brake to China
