PFII-Series Hydraulic Presses

Description:

The Gap Frame hydraulic press design (sometimes called C-Frame hydraulic presses) allows three-sided accessibility to the work area. Suitable for both short-run and high production applications these “all purpose” workhorses deliver unmatched productivity and life expectancy. Pacific’s single cylinder down-acting (self-guided) models are available in six to eight point gibbed configurations. The one-piece welded and machined frames guarantee superior rigidity. Either manual or CNC controlled, they are available with high speed hydraulic packages.

Applicable markets:

All OEM and contract stamping markets performing draw work, bending, forming and/or blanking work on a single press

Key Features:

  • Gap frame press versatility / affordability
  • Wide range of gap frame press applications
  • Industry's most advanced and dependable hydraulic system … designed and built by Pacific Press Technologies
  • Working speeds rivaling (sometimes exceeding) comparable mechanical designs

Pressformer II Series Hydraulic Presses

Unguided C-Frame for Wide Range of Jobs

Best Defined As "All Purpose" Performance, Delivers 3 Sided Access and Overall Affordability

Pressformer 2Originally designed in the late 1960's, the Pressformer II (PFII) brings new meaning to "all purpose" in the pressroom. Its single cylinder, C-Frame design provides for three-sided accessibility to the work area, suitable for diversified short-run applications as well as high production work. The PF II's design consists of a single cylinder down-acting (self-guided) design; anti-rotation rod for added rigidity; one-piece welded and machined frame construction; manual controlled but with simplified set ups (including an easily adjustable micro-switch depth stops and speed change cams); and a high speed hydraulic package with full tonnage supplied throughout the stroke.

Tackle a wide range of jobs including blanking, punching, deep draw press work, forming, embossing, coining, straightening, even assembly operations…with confidence and affordability in mind.

Choose from 100 to 1000 ton standard models, bolster sizes ranging from 18" x 35" to 42" x 82" (see specification chart below).

Check out our other C-Frame designs — PFII-OBS (Open Back Stationary, 8-pt gibbed) and the PFII G (Open Back Gibbed, 6-pt gibbed emulating a mechanical OBI).

Standard Features:

Take a look at these key machine features/user benefits…

  • Rugged Construction: Deep side housings, box-type bed construction and flanged-cylinder mounting help to minimize deflection and delivers impressive accuracy during higher capacity operations. Ample open heights and deep throat permits the use of large dies and easy access to the tooling from three sides-improved set-ups and adapting to any needed automation. Plus an open back design facilitates scrap removal. Large removable tool holder and bed bolster (removable) is offered in standard or custom configurations.
  • State-Of-The-Art Hydraulic System: Each press is equipped with a compact, high-speed hydraulic system enabling fast cycle speeds that can equal or surpass those of mechanical presses of comparable size. Pacific-built modular "stack" cartridge valve design delivers minimized heat build up, reduced piping and fitting requirements, and improves safety/maintenance issues (automatic decompression, non overloading, etc.). The power unit provides advanced operational speeds (rapid advance/normal press and normal press/normal press) and a high return speed, with speed/speed changes adjustable at any point in the stroke.
  • Superior Controllability: Gain increased levels of production, versatility and safety. Unlike mechanical presses, full rated tonnage and generous open heights deliver power throughout a long stroke. A two- hand control is standard and provides for safe operation. A keyed mode selector switch aids set up and production applications (settings include: off, inch, single stroke manual return, single stroke automatic return).
  • Laser Bend Alignment: Two laser line generators — one at each end of the tandem system - project a visible line at the centerline of the installed tooling. A blank with the bend lines marked is moved into the press brake until the mark and the visible laser line are aligned and the press brake is cycled to accurately complete the bend. An optional center mount (removable) laser line generator is available when a single press brake of the tandem system is to be used.

Optional Features:

  • 4-Post Guided Tool Holder
  • Higher Speed Hydraulic PackagesPLC interface (in lieu of micro switches, mounted in electrical control box door) control (Allen Bradley monochrome 550 or color 600 Panelview).
  • Pendant Mounted Control
  • Higher Speed Hydraulic Packages
  • Increased Stroke Lengths
  • Increased Open Heights
  • Quick Die Change Systems
  • Die Cushions
  • Hydraulic Knock-outs
  • Coil Feeding/Handling Systems
  • Specially Machined Bolsters and Slides
  • Additional Operator Stations
  • Continuous Run Operation
  • Safety Enhancing Optional Features
(light curtains, barrier guards, two hand controls, slide safety blocks)
