OBL-Series Hydraulic Press
Description:
Pacific’s Straight Side Hydraulic Presses employ either a single or double cylinder six-point, non-metallic adjustable gibbing, with flange mounted piston and slide connections. All hydraulic presses are heavy plate steel and/or column construction, have large bed areas and generous open heights, and provide full tonnage throughout the stroke (up to 2000 tons), providing multiple job versatility and precision tool alignment.
Applicable markets:
All OEM and contract stamping markets performing draw work, forming and/or blanking work on a single press

OBL-Series Straight Side Hydraulic Presses
Dual Cylinder, Open Back Long Press
A True Pressroom Performer...Speed, Job Versatility, Proven ROI
High Speed Blanking Performance On A Straight Side Press? (…And Traditional Hydraulic Press working, too?) The OBL-Series Hydraulic Straight Side Press has become the industry standard in dual cylinder down-acting metal forming equipment designs. Why? It allows you to perform draw work, embossing, coining, even blanking/punching work ... all on a single press. And, OBL does so at an affordable price (OBM and OBL represent our economical alternative to straight side hydraulic presses).
It's affordable, yet productive performance offers numerous design features: six-point, non-metallic adjustable gibbing; spherical piston/die connection with active hydraulic leveling, heavy plate steel side housings; generous bed sizes and open heights; liberal feed windows to facilitate coil feeding; and full tonnage supplied throughout the stroke-giving you high speed performance, job versatility and precision tool alignment. And when the die size exceeds a single cylinder press, OBL can provide maximized stability from left to right off-center loading.
Choose from 200 to 1000 ton standard models, bed lengths ranging from 6' to 12'-longer designs available optionally (see specification chart below).
Check out our other 6-way gibbed model, the OBM-Series for single cylinder, smaller die/part applications. Or for high-precision, four column, 8-way gib models, take a look at our D-Series (dual cylinder) and M-Series (mono-cylinder) models.

Standard Features:
Consider these key machine features/user benefits…
- Rugged Construction: Its interlocked frame design transfers press loads directly to parent metals (versus bolts or welds). Generous window openings allow for easy access to the die area and permits continuous coil feeding operations. The 6-point square-type gibbing assures maximum bearing contact with long non-metallic gib surfaces-with tight gib clearance and accurate slide alignment helping to extend overall tool life and performance. Off-center loading issues are addressed due to precision slide parallelism and active hydraulic leveling.
- State-Of-The-Art Hydraulic System: Each press is equipped with a compact, high-speed hydraulic system enabling fast cycle speeds that can equal or surpass those of mechanical presses of comparable size. Safe and reliable press slide control is found in the Pacific-built modular "stack" cartridge valve design (quick response, minimized heat build up, reduced piping and fitting requirements, improvements in safety and maintenance requirements). The power unit provides three advance speeds (rapid advance, fast press, normal press) and two return speeds. Additionally, its large double acting cylinders provide support to cushion the break-though shock of heavy material punching with resulting improvements in punch and die life and work quality.
- Superior Controllability: Gain increased levels of production, versatility and safety. Unlike mechanical presses, full rated tonnage and generous open heights deliver power throughout a long stroke. The OBL-Series offers a Pendant mounted, PLC Interface control (Allen Bradley 600 Panel View with color screen, Allen Bradley SLC 500 Series PLC) to provide minimum set-up time and maximum flexibility. Tonnage is programmed directly through the control.
- Laser Bend Alignment: Two laser line generators — one at each end of the tandem system - project a visible line at the centerline of the installed tooling. A blank with the bend lines marked is moved into the press brake until the mark and the visible laser line are aligned and the press brake is cycled to accurately complete the bend. An optional center mount (removable) laser line generator is available when a single press brake of the tandem system is to be used.
