D-Series Hydraulic Presses
Description:
Pacific’s Straight Side Hydraulic Presses employ either a single or double cylinder six-point, non-metallic adjustable gibbing, with flange mounted piston and slide connections. All hydraulic presses are heavy plate steel and/or column construction, have large bed areas and generous open heights, and provide full tonnage throughout the stroke (up to 2000 tons), providing multiple job versatility and precision tool alignment.
Applicable markets:
All OEM and contract stamping markets performing deep draw, progressive transfer die, and/or blanking work on a single press
Key Features:
- Built in application versatility
- Rigid, interlocked construction
- Industry's most advanced and dependable hydraulic system ... designed and built by Pacific
- Total power controllability throughout the stroke (compare to mechanical designs)
- Eight-way gib guided design ensures smooth, non-binding, precision bolster movement on the stamping press
- Numerous standard and optional features (including CNC controls, higher speed power units and continuous-run/coil fed-facilitating design features)

D-Series Straight Side Hydraulic Presses
Dual Cylinder, Column Style
Big Tonnage, Big Bed Sizes, Big Return on Investment
Large Platen/Bolster Area and Hydraulic Versatility for
Metalforming and Composite Molding Applications
The D-Series Hydraulic Press is the "big idea" that combines a two-point down-acting design, heavy column construction, large bed area, generous open heights and long working strokes (full tonnage supplied throughout the stroke) for application versatility to tackle your numerous press applications. The overall design features of the Pacific Press Technologies D-Series Hydraulic Press make this an industry versatility leader in the metalforming applications of draw press work, progressive and transfer die work, and blanking (applications rated at 2/3rds of full tonnage capability). Compression molding and advance composite press work are also suitable to this press design.
Choose from 150 to 2000 ton standard models, bolster sizes ranging from
6' x 3' (left to right x front to back) to 16' x 6' (see specification chart below).

D-Series Hydraulic Press Standard Features:
Consider these key machine features/user benefits…
- Rugged Construction: The reinforced bed is connected to the columns via interlocking wedge keys to help transmit forces equally rather than through bolts, tie rods or welds. Generous openings between columns allow for easy access to the die area and permits continuous coil feeding operations. The removable large bed bolster utilizes multiple die cushions (optional) for performing a wide range of draw work with a large pressure pad area. Key to its precision is the 8-point non-binding gibbing system (with proportional electronic leveling) that assures maximum bearing contact with its long nonmetallic gib surfaces.
- State-Of-The-Art Hydraulic System: Each straight side press is equipped with a compact, high-speed hydraulic system enabling fast cycle speeds that can equal or surpass those of mechanical presses of comparable size. Cylinders are synchronized with twin linear electronic scales, sensing out-of level conditions as small as +/-.001". Safe and reliable press slide control is found in the Pacific-built modular "stack" cartridge valve design (quick response, minimized heat build up, reduced piping and fitting requirements, improvements in safety and maintenance requirements). The power unit provides three advance speeds (rapid advance, fast press, normal press) and two return speeds. Other hydraulic features include automatic cylinder synchronization, precise slide parallelism under off-center loading conditions, and automatic decompression. Additionally, the large double acting cylinders provide bonus support to cushion the break-though shock of heavy plate punching with resulting improvements in punch and die life and work quality.
- Superior Controllability: Gain increased levels of production, versatility and safety. Unlike mechanical presses, full rated tonnage and generous open heights deliver power throughout a long stroke. The D-Series offers a Pendant mounted, PLC Interface control (Allen Bradley 600 Panel View with color screen, Allen Bradley SLC 500 Series PLC) to provide minimum set-up time and maximum flexibility. Tonnage is programmed directly through the control. Nitrogen dies can be ran up to 35% of maximum press capacity. Other control systems are available optionally.
Optional Features
- CNC Controls - Our option facilitates programmable drawing speeds to optimize the most difficult of deep drawing applications…or controllability for faster closing speeds (required processing thermoplastic materials) or precision thickness control (digital servo control of the press slide-as needed in SMC options)
