Single and Multi-Cylinder 4-post Design from
Pacific Press Technologies

Ideally suited for molding, clamping and forming
operations with open access from all sides

The CX-Series hydraulic 4-post press is an industry standard design for molding and forming presses that is built with the slide guided by bearings around the four corner posts for stability. The bed and crown are assembled to the posts pre-stressed with large nuts to improve press rigidity. Large open heights and long stroke applications are easily and economically accommodated . Access to the front, rear and both sides is maximized.

CX-Series hydraulic presses are available with a single cylinder for small bed sizes and up to five cylinders to distribute the loading over large bed sizes. Optional rolling bolster available to provide access to large molds for loading and unloading parts.

Choose from 100 to 600 ton models with bed size to fit your application. (See specification chart)

CX-Series hydraulic press standard features:

Consider these key machine features/user benefits…

  • Hydraulic PressesRugged Construction: The heavy welded steel frame construction absorbs and uniformly distributes the forces of full capacity operations. The bed and slide are internally reinforced to provide low deflection characteristics. The bed and crown are assembled to the columns pre-stresses with large nuts to improve press rigidity. Large bearings in the slide around the four posts guide the ram for smooth operation and accurate alignment.
  • State-Of-The-Art Hydraulic System: Each press is equipped with a compact, high-speed hydraulic system enabling fast cycle speeds. Safe and reliable press slide control is found in the Pacific-built modular "stack" cartridge valve design (quick response, minimized heat build up, reduced piping and fitting requirements, improvements in safety and maintenance requirements). The power unit provides three advance speeds (rapid advance, fast press, normal press) and two return speeds. Additionally, its large double acting cylinder provides support to cushion the break-though shock of heavy material punching with resulting improvements in punch and die life and work quality. Equipped with a pressure compensated piston pump, the press can hold tonnage for extended periods required by molding processes.
  • Superior Controllability: Gain increased levels of production, versatility and safety. Unlike mechanical presses, full rated tonnage and generous open heights deliver power throughout a long stroke. The CX-Series standard stroke control uses limit switches and an adjustable speed change cam. Also available is a Pendant mounted, PLC Interface control (Allen Bradley 600 Panel View with color screen, Allen Bradley SLC 500 Series PLC) to provide minimum set-up time and maximum flexibility. Tonnage is programmed directly through the control.
  • Laser Bend Alignment: Two laser line generators — one at each end of the tandem system - project a visible line at the centerline of the installed tooling. A blank with the bend lines marked is moved into the press brake until the mark and the visible laser line are aligned and the press brake is cycled to accurately complete the bend. An optional center mount (removable) laser line generator is available when a single press brake of the tandem system is to be used.

Optional Features:

  • The OBM-Series offers a Pendant mounted, PLC Interface control.
